MAGA goon slams Grammy Awards from audience after ICE | Music News
A MAGA supporter brutally slammed the Grammy Awards from the audience after one artist took time out of her acceptance speech to call out the Trump administration’s ICE crackdowns.
The 68th annual Grammy Awards kicked off on Sunday, February 1, and while the night time was full of memorable moments, as many of the largest artists took to the stage to carry out and settle for major awards, some audience members weren’t comfortable.
Sports Broadcaster, podcaster, and Trump supporter Emily Austin took to her X account from her seat at the event to share a video of herself reacting to Billie Eilish’s slamming of the Trump administration and ICE during her acceptance speech for Song of the Year for Wildflower.
In the clip, Eilish is heard saying, “F–k ICE,” before Austin mocks the singer, saying, “I’m so edgy.” She captioned the clip with, “Live reaction to Billie Eilish going on a ‘F–k ICE’ rant. Painful to listen to.”
Before sharing the clip, Austin reposted an X post from Oli London that read, “While Hollywood celebrities like Billie Eilish wore ‘Ice Out’ pins at the Grammys, Emily Austin wore a USA clutch.”
London then quoted Austin saying, “While others use this stage to divide, I chose to walk this carpet as a proud, unapologetic voice for the values that make this nation great.”
Earlier in the night time, Austin shared another video of her reacting to the slamming of ICE during the ceremony. In the clip, she said, “Standing ovation for ICE Out, I’m going to sit down. I’m going to sit down. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. I love our law enforcement.”
“So many stars in this room, I feel like I’m at Jeff Bezos wedding — but with way more Black people,” Noah said.
“Nicki Minaj is not here,” Noah also said at the start of the ceremony. “She is still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important points.”
Noah then launched into a Trump impression. He said in a Trump-like voice, “Actually, Nicki, I have the biggest ass. I have it. Everybody is saying it, Nicki. I know this is you, but it’s me. Look at it baby: WAP, WAP, WAP.”
Later, the host added, “The last time Lauryn Hill performed at the Grammys was in 1999 — back in 1999 the president had a sex scandal, people thought computers were going to destroy the world, and Diddy was arrested. Boy how times have changed!”
“Doechii is in the house,” he continued. “Her hit record, ‘Anxiety,’ which is now our new national anthem.”
Noah also made a joke about Puerto Rico to nominee Bad Bunny that was a major MAGA diss.
At one level in the night time, Noah sat next to the singer, who is set to carry out during this yr’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, and requested, “While I have you here, can I ask you a question? If things keep getting worse in America, can I come live with you in Puerto Rico?”
Bad Bunny, who earned six Grammy nominations this yr, replied, “Trevor… I have some news for you… Puerto Rico is ‘part of America,’ so.” Noah replied, “Shhh, don’t tell them. Don’t tell them. I need a Plan B. Shhhh, don’t tell them that.”
Toward the end of the night time, he said Song of the Year is an award all artists need, “almost as much as Trump wants Greenland.”
