Sharon Osbourne was in tears as Post Malone and an all-star band paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at the Grammy Awards.

The 68th annual Grammys kicked off on Sunday, February 1, airing live from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. Music‘s greatest evening was hosted by comic Trevor Noah for the sixth and closing time.

At the MTV VMAs last September, Yungblud joined Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Ozzy’s bandmate Adam Wakeman, and Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt to pay homage to the Prince of Darkness.

The tribute featured Yungblud delivering renditions of Ozzy’s Crazy Train and Changes. Tyler and Perry delivered Mama, I’m Coming Home, with Yungblud later becoming a member of the efficiency.

Ahead of the ceremony, Sharon, Jack, and Kelly, and Kelly’s associate, Slipknot band member Sid Wilson, spoke with Good Morning America on the pink carpet to talk about how Ozzy’s musical affect displays across generations of artists.

“It’s a testomony to his expertise and magic,” Jack Osbourne said. Sharon added, “The factor was, people who Ozzy touched, they’ve all completed so effectively. The magic he would put on to other people, and everybody who touched — Ozzy did effectively.”

“I feel we are going to see some history-making moments,” Recording Academy CEO and President Harvey Mason Jr. told The Associated Press.

“With artists being nominated in classes they haven’t been beforehand nominated in, and a new crop of expertise coming through the system this yr — I feel we’re going to see some actually thrilling outcomes.”
