Man cancels date last-minute over woman not…

Dating in 2025 is difficult — particularly when a glass of wine is now thought of a non-negotiable.

One TikToker says her date bailed just half-hour before they had been supposed to meet up — all because she doesn’t drink booze.

“The guy I was supposed to be on a date with right now decided to cancel our date less than an hour before it started,” Steph (@stephfromjersey) mentioned in a viral clip posted on July 17.

In the viral video, Steph defined that every thing was going easily. The two had been texting and getting excited to meet up when he popped a seemingly harmless query: “Are you more of a cocktail girl or a beer girl?”

That’s when Steph revealed she doesn’t drink — for medical causes. But she made it clear she didn’t thoughts if he did: “But I don’t care if you drink, and I always find something!”

Apparently that was still too sobering for him.

“Oh… yeah, idk if that’s gonna work for me, we should cancel now,” he texted back — and then went completely silent, leaving Steph on learn.

Fellow TikTok customers flooded the feedback with help and hypothesis about the thriller man’s motives. One person wrote, “Translation: ‘you mean I can’t get you drunk? I’m out.”

Another commented, “He had something for your drink, I’m sure.”

“As a sober person, before I was sober… I would have not been stoked to date a mocktail person because they would see who/what I was,” another person chimed in.

But not everybody was prepared to raise a crimson flag.

Some identified it would just come down to way of life and compatibility.

“My boyfriend and I are getting wine tomorrow and going to sit in the jacuzzi and drink it,” one famous. “Sure, I could do that with someone who doesn’t drink. But I’d prefer to do it with someone who does.”

“I guess I see it both ways,” one different mentioned. “My husband and I LOVE wine tastings and things like that. Mutual enjoyment. I can see how a partner that doesn’t drink could complicate things.”

Others in contrast it to being “super outdoorsy” — you need somebody who shares your passions. Just sub out the climbing boots for a bar tab.

But almost everybody agreed: ghosting somebody at the final minute isn’t precisely gentlemanly.
