Mets had meeting with top free agent Framber…

The Mets have at least talked to one of the top arms on the open market.

They met with Framber Valdez, The Post’s Jon Heyman reported.

The Giants and Orioles also met with the lefty, per Heyman.

Valdez spent the first eight seasons of his profession with the Astros, and went 13-11 report with a 3.37 ERA last 12 months.

In 17 profession postseason appearances, with all but one coming as a beginning pitcher, Valdez owns a 4.34 ERA.

The Mets and president David Stearns desire not to give long, profitable offers to pitchers given the injury risk, per Heyman, but have made exceptions for top expertise in the past — they provided $325 million to Yoshinobu Yamamoto, The Post beforehand reported.

Yamomoto finally signed with the Dodgers for the same quantity.

The Mets’ beginning pitching struggles have been central to their collapse out of the playoff image last 12 months.
