Mitt Romney has damaged his silence following the death of his sister-in-law, Carrie Elizabeth Romney, who was discovered unresponsive next to a parking storage in California on Friday.

The former presidential candidate said he was “heartbroken” after studying of the 64-year-old’s death, writing in a assertion, “Our family is heartbroken by the loss of Carrie, who brought warmth and love to all our lives. We ask for privacy during this difficult time.”

Months before Carrie’s death, Mitt Romney’s brother, George Scott Romney, separated from his spouse on May 25. Scott, who goes by his center title, filed for divorce on June 10 after eight years of marriage, reported the Daily Mail.

This was the 84-year-old’s third marriage. The couple tied the knot on November 26, 2016, had no kids together, and had been very non-public about their personal lives.

According to the divorce submitting, the breakdown of the wedding was due to irreconcilable variations. Most of the couple’s belongings had been acquired before marriage, and Carrie was in search of spousal help, which Scott would not agree to.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department revealed on Monday that a girl either jumped or fell from a close by parking storage, with NBC confirming that the building is 5 tales. This is analogous to the circumstances in which Carrie Romney was discovered.

Carrie’s trigger of death has been listed as “deferred,” as toxicology assessments are still pending, said the LA County medical examiner.
