Monty Don shares part of his garden he can never show | UK News
Monty Don has finally uncovered the one space of his garden he can “never show on TV” to followers on social media. The BBC Gardeners’ World star, 70, took to Instagram today (January 30) with a sequence of images displaying his own oasis, including a cosy grotto that includes stone steps and snowdrops lining the trail.
He explained: “The snowdrops are always over by the time we start filming Gardeners’ World at the beginning of March, so I can never share them through the medium of television.” Fans soon rushed to the feedback part, with one gushing: “You could do a special! Something like Let’s Tiptoe Through the Snowdrops!”
Another said: “That’s absolutely beautiful… that should still be shown on GW!”
While a third echoed: “You have to start filming GW earlier!”
Monty also confirmed a image of some garden ornaments framed by shrubbery and wood fences, captioning it: “Temporary barriers to stop Ned careering through the snowdrops in pursuit of a ball/frisbee/squirrel or simply the promise of all three.”
He wrote: “Peggy died yesterday. She was an outdated girl – a few weeks short of her sixteenth birthday – and went as she had lived, gently and without fuss.
Monty has two remaining canines – Patti and Ned – and recurrently shares lovely snaps of the pooches.
