Not a single California city cracked the top 30 on a listing of the most livable metro areas in the US — despite the state’s continued fame for high quality of life appeal, according to a latest research.
RentCafe, a top rental search platform, sifted through data from 149 US metro areas, weighing 17 essential elements like price of residing, healthcare availability and neighborhood really feel to uncover the nation’s most fascinating locations to live.
The research grouped its standards into three classes: socioeconomics, high quality of life and location and neighborhood.

Socioeconomic indicators included the associated fee of residing, income growth, poverty ranges and unemployment.
Quality of life was measured by access to healthcare suppliers, food choices, exercise alternatives and general well-being.
Location and neighborhood targeted on training ranges, arts and leisure, civic engagement, housing situations and commute occasions, according to RentCafe.
Each metro space obtained a composite rating across all classes to decide its rating.
While California cities exceled in subjective lifestyle and satisfaction surveys, high residing prices and financial pressures lowered their standing on lists targeted on affordability and stability.
San Francisco, for instance, ranked third nationwide general, yet only thirty third for livability, while Los Angeles settled at No. 77.

The most livable metro city in the US was Washington, DC, which earned top marks across the board.
The data contrasted with another analysis featured by KTLA, which named a number of California metros as leaders in lifestyle satisfaction for their climate, facilities, and out of doors access.
San Diego, Sacramento, Santa Rosa and Vallejo all landed in the top 20 on that listing.
