Rose Friedman, a longtime NPR journalist who co-created the community’s “Books We Love” studying information, died of cancer at her New York City home at age 38.
Friedman handed away on Sept. 17 after a 15-year profession at NPR — but not before making one last edit to her own obituary.
She had requested that the obituary prominently point out her work as a SAG-AFTRA store steward and describe her “proudest achievement” as serving to win expanded paid parental go away at NPR.
