As for feedback Crow-Armstrong made about the Dodgers that created an uproar from local followers, Halpert said, “He’s a kid and has so much passion in every aspect of his life. It’s unfair to put a camera on him in moments of competition and not expect him to react. It doesn’t come from a place of ill will or negativity. He’s a competitor. He’s the first one to sign an autograph and hang out with kids.”
It’s unlikely Crow-Armstrong will return to Southern California a lot other than on journeys with the Cubs now that he’s entrenched in Chicago. His mother and father lately moved to the world. But those who noticed him grow up in Sherman Oaks know Crow-Armstrong is a product of Southern California’s great climate and custom for producing top baseball expertise.
