A lipreader, showing on Channel 5’s Lipreading the Royals, has revealed what she believes Andrew said to William. According to Nicola Hinckley, Andrew reportedly said: “I’ve learned from what I’ve done. But before I forget, I’d like to ask you if you can forgive?” to which William did not reply.

After Andrew moved on, Nicola revealed what William and Kate said to each other, saying: “Kate says ‘he seemed very sorry’, and I think she’s referencing Andrew on the past conversation that they were talking about a few minutes ago.

“William replies to her and says, ‘Do you assume I deserve that? Is that what you imply?’ to which Kate repeats that she thought Andrew was sorry,’ as William appeared pissed off while making an attempt to preserve his composure.

Body language professional Adrienne Carter said: “So we see Andrew come over to chat to William and Kate. William looks extremely uncomfortable. I think his body language is screaming, ‘get away from me’. I do not want to be photographed, particularly not engaging with you.”

Royal commentator Dickie Arbiter agreed: “William’s face said everything, you know, I don’t want to converse with you, push off, and I think Andrew probably got the message. He was just the wrong person to be there in a family group, because while he might be family, he’s not accepted as in the family group.”

TalkTV star Cristo Foufas added: “William did absolutely right in ignoring without appearing to be rude. It is absolutely amazing that this is being said so publicly, that we’re finding out this level of detail of the family’s animosity towards Prince Andrew and how they’re primarily brazenly acknowledging to each other that being seen with him is disastrous for the future of the monarchy.
