Clarkson’s Farm’s resident ‘bird lady’ Hannah Bourne-Taylor might need shot into the public consciousness on sequence 5 of the Prime Video show, educating Jeremy Clarkson about the birds that live on Diddly Squat Farm. But before that, she was busy protesting naked through the streets of London – for a very important reason.

In 2022, Hannah launched the national marketing campaign The Feather Speech to save swifts around the nation, mainly through the use of ‘swift bricks’ to create nesting websites for threatened species of birds. And to promote that particular marketing campaign, Hannah determined to parade naked through London, with her physique painted with the important birds.

In another, she pained her chest blue, with black paint dripping down her legs to simulate feathers.

Hannah confessed to The Observer that while the stunt might need sounded “radical and maybe emotional”, it was instead “highly strategic”.

She said: “I knew that no one would care at all about my campaign unless I managed to court the media in some way.

“So for me, it was this: do I break the law or do I get naked? It was just a normal thought process, nothing bold or courageous or dramatic, just about finding a logical way to try to solve a problem.”

Hannah admitted she felt “judged” throughout the method, which was “hard to deal with” – and also acquired vile threats from trolls online in response to her protest. Despite it all, she says the ordeal taught her “resilience” and she continues to marketing campaign for swift bricks to be made obligatory for all new construct homes in Britain.

Hannah also once let a child chook nest in her hair for a whopping 84 days while she was residing in Ghana, explaining to the publication: “I think the strongest instinct that we all possess is the one to protect what we love.

“Even though it does sound a bit crazy to commit my time to raising a tiny bird, it makes complete sense because I commit. I’m all or nothing.”
