Ric Grenell Warns NYT to Expect Lawsuit If It Does | Political News
Richard Grenell has had a long and diverse profession, and he sure takes his work significantly, no matter what he’s up to at the second. Right now, he is serving as interim President of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and he is taking that significantly, too.
So when Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) made some unfounded and, candidly, false claims about the Kennedy Center under Grenell’s management, Mr. Grenell was fast to issue a sharp rebuke, fact-checking Senator Whitehouse into the next time zone. In his X account, Mr. Grenell went to city.
. @SenWhitehouse just stepped in it.
He attacked the Kennedy Center with outrageous claims. So we responded with the information.
Oh boy – the information are so clear: the NYT and the Senator’s letter author are going to be embarrassed.

The post continues:
We have a balanced finances, we’ve raised a whopping $117 MILLION under @realDonaldTrump – and FIFA has paid thousands and thousands plus coated all bills (the NYT made a gigantic mistake by assuming FIFA was a rental not a major Sponsor).
The connected letter is where the fact-check actually will get down to it.

Here are a couple of highlights:
Dear Senator Whitehouse:
I’m involved about your careless assaults on me and my staff. The letter you signed didn’t endure basic fact-checking. It is stuffed with partisan assaults and false accusations. Your workers relied on nameless sources, inaccurate gossip, and allegations from partisan reporters who never had access to the data or information I’m joyful to present below.Â
This is not precisely something new for Senator Whitehouse, who is something but a clear-eyed arbiter of the reality. But it is on the Center’s funds that Mr. Grenell actually hits home.
- Before the arrival of new management, the Kennedy Center was hemorrhaging donor {dollars}. Members of the manager management staff have been paid between $400,000 to $700,000 per 12 months. New management has ended the financial chaos. If any division needs to create a new place, they must first submit a business plan to the Finance division to implement financial accountability and curb pointless workers prices.
- The price of convening a single board assembly under earlier management was over $120,000 in bills. Today, it is a fraction of that price, with the next Board assembly being hosted by a Board member at no price to us. While you loved those earlier exorbitant Board conferences, you haven’t attended one under the new management.
The letter goes on in that vein. It’s a fairly good takedown of the Rhode Island senator, who seems to be struggling from Stage IV Trump Derangement Syndrome, and who is clearly transferring that derangement to anybody who is or ever was an affiliate or worker of President Trump. But then, he is hardly alone in that; if somebody have been in a position to create a vaccine for TDS, one would require a number of railroad tanker vehicles to ship the correct dose just to Congressional Democrats, not to point out everybody else on the left.Â
They say that success is the best revenge, and it sure looks as if Ric Grenell’s management of the Kennedy Center is profitable, and what’s more, he is performed a fairly good job of rubbing Senator Whitehouse’s nostril in it.
If you are so inclined, you may read Senator Whitehouse’s letter right here.
UPDATE [11/22/25, 3:32 PM EDT]: Grenell wasn’t completed, writing in another X post that he “will sue” the NYTimes if the publication refuses to right the file. He also said that goes for “anyone else who repeats” the pretend news on this:
If the New York Times refuses to print a correction, then we are going to sue them.
And everybody else who repeats this false story. https://t.co/n1HkISLp0Q
