The 29-year-old Scottie Scheffler has risen to develop into arguably the most recognizable golfer on the planet after claiming a pair of major championship wins in 2025.

Scheffler appeared philosophical about his Friday displaying.

“I think if I continue to strike it the way I did today, it’s just one of those days where it seemed like I wasn’t getting rewarded for the stuff that I was doing; just a touch off all day,” he explained. “My game definitely doesn’t feel off, but you look at 18, end up a foot off the fairway.”

Astonishingly, the American golfer pushed his outstanding run of sub-par rounds to a beautiful 19 consecutive efforts.

The 34-year-old Fleetwood carded two under par through 16 holes on Saturday, but watched American Patrick Cantley fire a -5 to seize the benefit.

The English star appeared anxious when discussing his efficiency following Friday’s motion. “All I can do is keep learning,” he confessed to reporters.

“I actually feel like I’ve played very, very well when I have led the tournaments and been in contention. It’s just I might have not got things right right at the end. It’s not like I’ve crashed and burned. It’s just that I’ve not quite finished things off. The people who win the most are the guys who are in contention the most.

“[This is] where I need to be,” he declared. “I keep going. I like the thrill when I’m in competition, and I’m just excited for the chance again.”
