Scottie Schefflers PGA win was cathartic in…
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Scottie Scheffler wasn’t the only one placing himself through an emotional scrambler en route to capturing the PGA Championship Sunday at Quail Hollow.
His dad, Scott, couldn’t bear to watch anymore, so he went inside the clubhouse to get an ice cream to calm his nerves.
His coach, Randy Smith, felt as helpless as Scheffler’s dad watching from exterior the ropes, but he never stopped believing, because he’s been teaching Scottie since he was a 7-year-old and is aware of what’s inside of his soul.
His caddie, Ted Scott, was inside the ropes and knew his man wasn’t proper, so he calmly did what he might to make him proper.
