Sergio Garcia is “very confident” that LIV Golf will climate its funding disaster, though he admits he stays in the darkish about the breakaway league’s plans for the upcoming season.

LIV is actively in search of new buyers after Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund announced in April that it could withdraw its financial backing at the end of the marketing campaign.

Significant modifications, including cuts to prize money, seem unavoidable if the league is to secure its future once the Saudi billions dry up. Despite this, gamers have expressed optimism forward of this week’s event in Spain. The actuality, however, is that LIV must raise a whole bunch of thousands and thousands of {dollars} over the approaching weeks and months to keep afloat, with Bryson DeChambeau spearheading the gross sales pitches. Meanwhile, Jon Rahm has taken a ‘stay-in-your-lane’ strategy while DeChambeau tries to save LIV Golf

Garcia, however, performed down the uncertainty surrounding LIV’s future and pledged his help to CEO Scott O’Neil in the search for new financial companions, even as the league’s future construction stays unclear.

“Well, I wouldn’t say there’s a lot of uncertainty. I think that obviously there’s a little bit of uncertainty,” Garcia told reporters at Valderrama. “But we’re really excited about the work that our CEO, Scott, and his team are putting in.

“We take pleasure in being concerned in it, giving our enter, and seeing how we will help make sure that the league retains going ahead. We’re very assured that that’s going to occur. It’s just going to look different.”

Garcia and his Fireballs teammates David Puig, Luis Masaveau and Josele Ballester refused to be drawn on what changes they would like to see to the league and its format next year.

The latter said: “In my opinion, more than being concerned about if LIV goes to keep going or the league goes to keep going, it is more about how it is going to look going ahead.

“I think that’s where we are, and we’re trying to figure out the best way possible moving forward and how we can be excited for all of us, not only ourselves but our fans, our sponsors, everyone that is involved. We’re looking forward to seeing the final product.”

Garcia and his Fireballs teammates David Puig, Luis Masaveau and Josele Ballester declined to remark on what modifications they hoped to see in the league and its construction for next yr.

The latter said: “It’s a great question. Honestly, me personally, I haven’t thought about it much. As you said before, this uncertainty or just not knowing that much. Maybe as a captain like Sergio, it could be a little different.”

“But I like to think always in the same way and just focusing on my golf, and knowing that if I play good golf, things will fix for me, and I’ll have the chance to do or decide what I want to do. There’s not much I can control, and I just can focus on my golf.”
