Severe constipation caused this toddlers organs to be crushed -……


A toddler was left in such extreme pain from constipation that his organs have been crushed, inflicting him to scream in agony.

Elissa Novak, the boy’s mom, described how her son Ivan’s condition led to fixed vomiting, weight loss, and insufferable pain. A doctor later estimated that 2kg of his small 12kg body weight was comprised of stool.

The younger boy also has a genetic condition that impacts his cognitive talents, which Elissa believes could have contributed to the late diagnosis.

“It was seen as ‘that’s just what disabled children are like’. We did actually have one consultant who said ‘disabled children just scream’,” Elissa revealed.

“It wasn’t looked into properly, it wasn’t taken seriously until he was really at crisis point. His signs of pain weren’t recognized. It was just a perfect storm really.”

According to Bladder and Bowel UK, around 1.5 million children in the UK endure with the condition, noting that there’s been a surge in calls to their helpline as kids return to faculty this week.

A pediatric specialist nurse with the charity, Davina Richardson, acknowledged: “It’s a huge problem and many healthcare professionals don’t consider it a serious issue in children.

“Discussing pee and poop may be very un-American. It’s not one thing that we as a tradition do.”
