SNL brutally mocks freckle-chested dragon lady | TV Shows

During the latest episode of Saturday Night Live, the printed featured a cold open, which noticed some of the show’s comedians painting sports activities broadcasters having a chat during the March Madness Final Four alongside Pam Bondi following her shock firing from the Trump administration.

The former attorney basic was let go from her place on April 2, which ended her 14-month tenure and adopted growing frustration from Trump surrounding her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein recordsdata scandal and an alleged lack of progress in prosecuting political opponents.

Keenan Thompson, who was portraying former NBA participant Charles Barkley, said to the viewers about Bondi, “We should all be glad that freckle-chested dragon lady is gone. Not to mention Kristi Noem, whose husband looks like he’s starring in Big Momma House 4. Look, the whole thing is a sham mockery.” This joke referred to the questionable photos of former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s husband that were released.

After a burst of laughter from the audience, Ashley Padilla’s Bondi said, “”So great to be here at the Final Four… years of this country … I can’t let the lies you said about me go unanswered. The truth is I was amazing at my job … I made history as the first woman to be fired as Attorney General. I shattered the glass exit door.”

Then, she added in a killer dig at the administration, saying, “They threw my headshot in the trash like it was the Epstein files.”

Thompson then joked, “You could work a sports. I mean, you already look like a woman’s basketball coach who got suspended for pulling on a player’s braid,” he added in a very well timed reference.

Fans at home reacted to the cold open with combined feelings. Some had been happy, with one saying on X, “This Bondi cold open was spot on.” Another wrote, “I love Ashley as Bondi.”

“Freckle chested dragon lady is gold,” another wrote, with another person saying, “Ashley Padilla is rising in the baddie stock for doing this.”

“Ashley is so good at this sketch I’m crying,” another echoed.

Others had been less happy. One particular person wrote, “this cold open really needed to be paced up. so much dead air #snl”

“#snl SNL is so bad they have to take a recent event the final four and mix it up with trump derangement syndrome,” another said.

One more added, “Terrible cold open. I think I might start NOT watching this show anymore.”

The April 4 episode of Saturday Night Live aired on NBC and featured Jack Black as a host and Jack White as a music visitor.
