Sophie Cunningham out for season as Fever injury…

Fever guard Sophie Cunningham will miss the rest of the 2025 season after struggling a proper knee injury in Sunday’s extra time win over the Sun, the crew announced Wednesday.

Cunningham, who sustained the season-ending injury in the second quarter of the sport, is predicted to make a full recovery.

The Fever didn’t disclose a particular diagnosis.

The Fever signed guard Shey Peddy to a seven-day hardship contract and launched guard Kyra Lambert in a corresponding transfer.

Lambert, who was on a seven-day hardship contract with the Fever, made her WNBA debut on Sunday in the ultimate minutes of Sunday’s win over Connecticut.

The injury to Cunningham is another robust blow for a Fever crew that has been lacking Caitlin Clark for the last month due to a groin injury.

The Fever acquired Cunningham and the No. 19 choice in the 2025 WNBA Draft from the Mercury.

Phoenix chosen Cunningham out of Missouri with the thirteenth total choose in the second spherical of the 2019 draft.
