The web is having a correct chortle at Aaron Pierre‘s South London accent slip-up during an explosive scene in the latest episode of hit HBO Max sequence Lanterns.
In the now-viral scene, Pierre (who performs superhero-in-training John Stewart) and his reluctant mentor Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) may be seen interrogating the person posing as Hector Hammond–a mysterious determine backed by an alien shapeshifter called a manhunter (Poorna Jagannathan) who, based on what we all know, is the mastermind of an unknown conspiracy linked to a homicide thriller in a rural Nebraska city.

Finally assembly the second, Stewart asks, “Who are you?!” before slamming his hand on the desk and shouting, “SPEAK UHP” in a strong South London bruvcent, breaking from his normally sturdy American accent.
