Terrified patients evacuated as flames rip through hospital in PA – US……
Emergency groups grappled with a fire and evacuated patients from a Pennsylvania hospital on Wednesday night time as flames consumed half of the power, officers reported.
All patients, employees, and guests had been safely eliminated from Lehigh Valley Hospital in Dickson City, confirmed a hospital spokesperson. Emergency providers continued their operations at the location into early Thursday.
Governor Josh Shapiro announced on social platform X that the state’s police, emergency management company, and health division had responded to the blaze.
“Thank you to every first responder running toward danger to help their fellow Pennsylvanians,” he said. “Lori and I are praying for the staff, patients, their families, and the entire community tonight.”
In videos and pictures shared online, flames may be seen erupting from the top of what appears to be the hospital’s Orthopedic Institute.
The trigger of the fire in Dickson City, situated about 6 miles (10 kilometers) north of Scranton, was not immediately identified.
“Deep gratitude goes to the first responders and hospital teams whose swift, professional actions ensured the safety and well-being of everyone involved,” U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan Jr., whose district encompasses town, posted on X.
The fire began and unfold through the Scranton Orthopedics roof, an authentic building, connected to the pretty new Lehigh Valley Hospital-Dickson City. There was no fire in the hospital; only smoke and water injury, according to fire officers.
The patients, 77 whole, had been transferred from the hospital to local services.
No accidents had been reported, and the blaze was introduced under control.
