The Cat in the Tree Had a Day Off – RedState

Here’s a palate cleanser for your Sunday morning. Normally we’re speaking about canines doing the troublesome work of search and rescue, but this one includes a canine being rescued, and it was fairly a dramatic show.

Two weeks after a canine went lacking, emergency responders on the Peninsula found and rescued the canine after she ran out into the water and started swimming away from the shore. 

“We received a call for a dog that ran out into the water and just kept swimming. A witness called 911,” the Menlo Park Fire Protection District posted Friday on Facebook. “Dog and family have been reunited. Thank you to everyone who helped reunite this furry friend with its family!”

The East Palo Alto Police Department posted the video of the rescue and had some enjoyable with it, with strains like: “The cat in the tree had the day off. Instead, Menlo Park Fire responded to: One Tiny dog.”

The rescuers examined the canine and found an open wound on its left cheek, indicating a seagull strike. Quite horrifying and superb that the canine was ready to fend it off.

The canine was then taken into the care of animal control and later transferred to the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA, where workers had been ready to determine the homeowners and reunite them with the lacking pet.

The rescue was a group effort involving the Menlo Park Fire Protection District, East Palo Alto Police Department, Redwood City Fire Department and the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA.

The canine’s proprietor was grateful, as he or she ought to have been.

“I want to thank the entire rescue team from the bottom of my heart,” the canine’s proprietor, an East Palo Alto resident, later posted on the Facebook web page. “These last 2 weeks were of a lot of agony not knowing about my dog. … I would never be able to thank you enough for her rescue and for bringing her back to her home. Forever grateful.”

If you look at the dates, two weeks in the past was the July 4th weekend, which is the largest day of the yr for pets to go AWOL. With listening to that is far better than people’, some canines shouldn’t have a good time on this day, and even in restrictive California, fireworks shows still go on and could be a source of chaos for canine homeowners who do not put together for them. While not acknowledged, one can surmise that this might have been the motive behind fur pal’s disappearance. The proprietor is actually lucky not only that the canine did not get far, but that Bay Fire was ready to act so shortly and expeditiously.

Our first responders are superb, as are all the businesses that labored in coordination to guarantee the pup was attended to and was safely returned to its proprietor.
