The Goonies cast reunites 40 years later for Ke | TV Shows

After 40 years, The Goonies cast has finally reunited.

Shortly after the sequel to the classic 1980s blockbuster was announced, the co-stars got together to celebrate Ke Huy Quan’s successful Hollywood career.

After playing Data in the family movie, the actor shot up in fame starring in several other hit projects like Dreamworks‘ Kung Fu Panda 4 and American Born Chinese.

To commemorate their co-star’s impact on the entertainment industry, Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, Jeff Cohen and Kerri Green attended his hand and footprint ceremony at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California.

The film’s producer Steven Spielberg was even planning on attending but couldn’t because of a previously scheduled vacation.

Other members of the crew also spoke like screenwriter Chris Columbus, who said Quan has “the greatest comeback story in the history of cinema,” referencing his almost 30 year break from acting.

Columbus declared: “‘You, sir, are the embodiment of a phrase I wrote so many years ago: ‘Goonies never say die.’”

After starring in the 1993 Taiwanese television series Eunuch & Carpenter, he spent two decades solely working as a stunt coordinator and assistant director.

He made his revival in 2021 when he starred in Marvel drama series Loki. Since coming back into the spotlight, he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Waymond Wang in Everything Everywhere All at Once.
