The Rookie hit by ABC TV schedule shakeup with new | TV Shows
TV favorite The Rookie has moved to a new time slot on ABC as the channel undergoes a schedule shakeup.
The show, which has returned for season seven, used to air on Tuesday nights at 10 pm ET via ABC. Yet now the new schedule change has seen it move to an hour earlier, and it will now air at 9 pm ET on Tuesdays.
There’s been no exact reason given for the time change, but it’s thought that due to High Potential now finishing there’s a hole in the schedule and The Rookie has been moved down to take its place.
Series seven of the long-running police drama kicked off at the beginning of the year, and has seen Nathan Fillion return as the LAPD’s oldest one-time rookie, John Nolan.
Also returning for the seventh season were Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, Alyssa Diaz, Mekia Cox, Shawn Ashmore, and Jenna Dewan. Newcomers to the seventh series are Patrick Keleher, Deric Augustin,e and Ivan Hernandez.
Last year the TV series delighted fans as it brought back a fan-favorite character for its 100th episode.Â
In February last year, The Hammer marked The Rookie’s 100th episode, which saw John Nolan (played by Nathan Fillion) and Bailey Nune (Jenna Dewan) prepare for their wedding.
Of course, nothing ever runs smoothly and Oscar Hutchinson made an unwelcome return. Oscar was last seen in season five when crime boss Elijah Stone was sent to prison, with his cell situated right next to his.
At the end of the installment, Elijah questioned his prison buddy if he had any good revenge stories to tell, implying there may be an alliance forming to take down those responsible for their incarcerations.
Having hurt so many people in the past, Oscar was attacked in series six while donating a kidney and the criminal felt it appropriate to sue Nolan for the bodily harm he endured.
