The View’s Ana Navarro slammed for ‘false’ Bill | TV Shows

The View’s Ana Navarro is going through some criticism after she said Bill Clinton wasn’t impeached for the Monica Lewinsky scandal and seemingly discovered a means to tie controversy to Trump supporters on the show’s December 5 episode.

The cohosts of the ABC show–Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin–mentioned double requirements confronted by ladies embroiled in dishonest scandals with highly effective males as they talked about Olivia Nuzzi’s new e-book American Canto.

After beforehand having a blunder live on air about a different matter this week, Navarro appeared to flub as she talked about Nuzzi, who has confronted backlash since it was revealed she had an affair with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The issue arose as the ladies talked about Nuzzi’s look on the BullWark podcast, where she broke down in tears.

Behar then pivoted the subject to Monica Lewinsky’s own scandal with Bill Clinton in the Nineteen Nineties, after sharing that the previous White House intern had reached out to Nuzzi over her own scandal.

“Alot of people think she got dragged through the mud over her affair with Bill Clinton, a lot of people say that, you know, that he got away easily and she didn’t,” Behar said.

Navarro then chimed in, sharing that she felt the scandal confronted a notably different scope because of when it occurred.

“I think that if the Monica scandal, if the Clinton scandal with monica had occurred after the MeToo Movement, he probably would have been impeached,” she said. “I think we see things in a different light, and by we, I mean people who don’t follow Donald Trump because they don’t see anything, but most other people who did listen to women tho took the MeToo movement to heart, I think, and I include myself in that, I see things differently today than I did when the Bill Clinton thing happened.”

After Behar questioned if she meant issues had been “worse” now, Navarro then doubled down on her declare and once again used it to slam the current President and his supporters as nicely.

“I think because we like Bill Clinton, because he is so charismatic, because so many people think he was a good president, that I think people were willing to give him a pass,” she said. “But I think he would have been judged differently after MeToo, unless he was Donald Trump and a Republican.”

However, her statements had been shortly panned online, particularly after one particular person identified that saying Clinton wasn’t impeached was incorrect.

“Ana Navarro falsely claims Bill Clinton wasn’t impeached after the Monica Lewinski [sp] scandal and seemingly blames Trump supporters,” they wrote alongside a clip.

Clinton was impeached for mendacity under oath about his affair with Lewinsky by the House of Representatives, but later acquitted by the Senate, permitting him to end out serving his second time period as President.

As for Navarro attacking Trump in her rant, she appeared to be referencing his own historical past with claims of inappropriate misconduct and assault, after 28 different ladies have made numerous claims against him over the years.

In addition, during his first time period, Trump was also impeached twice for two separate incidents. He was impeached by the House in 2019 for abuse of energy and obstruction of Congress over potential ties to Russian election interference.

He was impeached a second time in January 2021 over the January 6 riots by supporters in the Capitol.

Like Clinton, he was acquitted by the Senate in both instances.

The View airs weekdays on ABC.
