Tiger Woods has revealed that TGL is making ready to welcome two extra groups for the upcoming season, though he stays tight-lipped about whether or not Brooks Koepka will take part.

Koepka grew to become eligible for the progressive tech-driven area golf league — co-founded by Woods and Rory McIlroy — after departing LIV Golf to rejoin the PGA Tour. The five-time major winner made a heartfelt return at last week’s Farmers Insurance Open.

Currently in the center of its second season, the league has already revealed intentions to broaden with an extra franchise next 12 months.

In May, TGL unveiled Motor City Golf Club as its seventh staff, bringing Detroit into the fold. Ownership teams from both the Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos have invested in the new franchise.

Woods attended Monday’s motion at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, watching his Jupiter Links squad secure their inaugural victory of the season against Atlanta Drive.

During the post-match media session, Woods confronted questions about whether or not Koepka, who lives in Jupiter, may be part of his roster in 2027. The 50 12 months previous declined to remark particularly but disclosed his expectation that TGL will add not just one, but two new franchises next season.

We’ve got one new team next year, and should have two. I don’t know when it’s going to be sewn up or not.

“But who is aware of if Brooks goes to be on a staff or not on a staff, but we now have a great staff right here. My boys right here, we have had so a lot enjoyable going back and forth, and these group texts are just superior.”

Chicago and Texas are emerging as prime candidates for TGL’s expansion plans, with Detroit also in the mix. The league has already locked down trademarks for Chicago Links Golf Club and Texas Golf Club heading into 2025, though which market gets priority remains unclear.

For Koepka, a TGL move would appear mutually beneficial, especially as the league hunts for a minimum of eight additional full-time players to support two new franchises next season.

The 35-year-old’s residence is conveniently located near the Palm Beach State College facility that serves as the league’s headquarters. Additionally, he brings the caliber of celebrity appeal TGL desires as it works to establish its foothold in professional golf.

Koepka turned heads with an unexpected visit to a TGL event last year, prompting McIlroy to publicly express his enthusiasm about bringing the nine-time PGA Tour champion into the fold.

“I might love him to play. If there’s space on a staff for Brooks to come and play, it only makes what we’re attempting to do stronger,” McIlroy remarked last month. “He’s a five-time major champion. He’s been one of the best gamers of our technology. If he decides it is one thing that he desires to do, I’m sure we’ll discover a manner to embody him.”
