Tom Aspinall: 'Jon Jones is retired and | MMA News
Interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall declared himself the undisputed heavyweight titleholder and says he has a date and location for his octagon return,
“Jon Jones retired,” Aspinall mentioned on the Good Guy / Bad Guy podcast. “You guys don’t follow Jon on social media?
“The man is residing his best life. He’s had a implausible profession, we all know. We know Jon’s a spiritual man, so I would like to say God bless him transferring ahead in what he does in his life and his profession and we transfer on. We transfer on. I’m the undisputed champion of the world. I’m prepared to take on all comers, get the division transferring again. Those guys have been ready around too long. The contenders are getting sick of it. Everybody is getting sick of it. Even the followers are getting sick of this stuff. Jon’s retired and it is time to transfer on.”
Jones hasn’t officially announced whether he’s retired but has mentioned that retirement is an option. Aspinall maintains that once a fighter begins talking about retiring, he’s essentially retired.
“If one man is considering about retiring, he is retired,” Aspinall said. “I ain’t considering about retiring. I’m considering about getting this division energetic, making the heavyweight division great again, getting these large fights in, preventing these contenders who have sat on the sidelines ready for over a yr at this level. I’m right here to battle.”

“I’m not ready for one battle. I’m not attempting to battle one man. I’m attempting to battle all of the fellows. I’m attempting to be the man at heavyweight that takes out everyone, and it does not matter who it is.”
Aspinall teased that his next opponent will be announced soon.
“I’ll inform you one thing, I’ve received a date and location. I’ve received a date and location,” he mentioned.
