President Donald Trump doubled down on his endorsement of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for the Lone Star State’s Senate race, citing his loyalty to him and the MAGA motion as causes for him to symbolize the state after the November midterm elections.

The president took to Truth Social to show his assist for the attorney common, who is set to face incumbent John Cornyn in a runoff major on Tuesday to decide who will symbolize Republicans on the Senate poll in November.

“TEXAS, REMEMBER! Ken Paxton was a GREAT Attorney General, probably the best in the Country. He was also very loyal to your favorite President, ME, as the Dumocrats played their ultimate game of Weaponization, and failed, BADLY!,” the president wrote on Sunday, referring to a latest nickname he debuted for Democrats.

“I LOVE Texas, and WON it all three times, getting, by far, the highest (A Record!) Vote in the History of that Great & Beautiful State. Ken’s opponent was VERY disloyal to me, as President, and didn’t fight hard enough for the desperately needed SAVE AMERICA ACT – VOTER I.D., PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP, NO MAIL-IN BALLOTS (with exceptions for Military, Illness, Disability, or Travel!). What more needs to be said??? Vote for Ken Paxton on Tuesday, HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!!!” he added.

As of Sunday afternoon, Paxton had a 95.6% likelihood of profitable the runoff on Tuesday, according to the prediction market Kalshi. On the other hand, Cornyn had a 4.4% likelihood of profitable the nomination.

Trump’s endorsement, which was revealed on Tuesday, shook up the race, giving Paxton a last-minute push in the high-profile face. Prior to the runoff, the Republican Senate race was already the most costly major in the chamber’s historical past, according to Border Report.

On Sunday, Cornyn didn’t affirm whether or not he would back Paxton if he loses the runoff after he was requested whether or not he believed that Paxton was match to serve in the U.S. Congress based on earlier feedback.

“Well, I happen to ask these speculative questions about November, but I expect to be the nominee of the party, so I don’t expect to ever have to deal with that,” Cornyn said. “Of course, people are seeking divisions among Republicans. We’re having quite a robust family fight here in the primary.”

Cornyn added that his purpose was still to defeat Talarico in November, which he described as the “essence of my response.”

“But I think people are asking me about something that’s never going to happen, so that’s the reason I framed it the way I did,” Cornyn said.

In his endorsement of Paxton, Trump praised Cornyn as “a good man” before including that he was not as loyal to the MAGA motion as the state attorney common.

“John was very late in backing me in what turned out to be a Historic Run for the Republican Nomination, and then, the Presidency, itself,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Ken Paxton has gone through a lot, in many cases, very unfairly, but he is a Fighter, and knows how to WIN. Our Country needs Fighters, and also Loyalty to the Cause of Greatness.”
