Trump Never Implied Role in Epstein Scandal – | Political News

Some tidbits are beginning to come along from former President Bill Clinton’s deposition in entrance of the House Oversight Committee on Friday. While there’ll likely be a lot more to chew on, and we hope to see some video launched as effectively, the Oversight Committee Chair, Republican Rep. James Comer (KY-01) did let slip one attention-grabbing piece of the previous president’s testimony.

A story on Fox News’ website has more particulars.

Former President Bill Clinton urged he couldn’t recall President Donald Trump ever implicating himself in Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, one of the Republicans deposing him said Friday.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., briefly up to date reporters during Clinton’s deposition in the panel’s Epstein probe. The deposition started a little after 11 a.m. and is predicted to continue into early Friday night.

“I know there’s a lot of obsession about President Trump from the media, a lot of curiosity about President Trump from media. I want to make a statement because they’ll probably not mention this when they come out here,” Comer said, referring to Democrats on the committee.

Saying there’s a lot of obsession about President Trump from the media is an understatement of large proportions, particularly where this explicit issue is anxious. We ought to also be aware that this denial, such as it’s, is just not yet an official quote; that can have to wait until the release of the official transcript.

He said the panel’s top Democrat, Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif., requested Clinton if Trump must be called before the committee like he was.

That’s for you to determine,” Clinton said, according to Comer.

“The president went on to say that the president, Trump, ‘has never said anything to me to make me think he was involved,’ and he meant with Epstein,” Comer said. “I believed that was an attention-grabbing factor that President Clinton said.”

As denials go, that’s a little on the weak side. But coming from former President Clinton?

Former President Clinton has been keeping something of a low profile in recent years, until now.

The Oversight Committee is expected to release the full transcript of former President Clinton’s deposition in the next few days, likely along with the video. The transcript and video of Hillary Clinton will also be released, possibly as early as this weekend, and that should make for some interesting reading indeed. As of this writing, however, all that has been released is the former president’s opening assertion:

The only portion of Clinton’s testimony that is public so far is his opening assertion in which he denied figuring out something about Epstein’s crimes.

“Now, let me say what you’re going to hear from me. First, I had no idea of the crimes Epstein was committing. No matter how many photos you show me, I have two things that, at the end of the day, matter more than your interpretation of those 20-year-old photos,” Clinton said, according to his ready opening remarks.

There will likely be a lot more launched in the approaching days. Stay tuned.
