Trump officials are reportedly contemplating a alternative for Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Troy Edgar, second in command to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin. Similarly, a White House spokesperson also backed Edgar. White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said, “President [Donald] Trump has total confidence in his DHS team, including Deputy Secretary Edgar.”
In distinction to the official line being towed, one DHS official claimed that Edgar only “has few friends and supporters in the DHS.”
