President Donald Trump scored a major win in the Senate earlier this morning when GOP members overcame inside squabbles and accepted a $70 billion funding invoice for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency.

The invoice, which was handed early Friday morning, would add $70 billion to the immigration enforcement company that has been central to the administration’s mass deportation agenda. It was reported that the measure handed mainly on social gathering strains, with a 52-47 vote at 5 a.m., with Democrats unanimously opposing the measure and one Republican, Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski, breaking ranks.

At this level, the invoice will head to the House of Representatives, where lawmakers will vote next week on whether or not to ship it to the White House for the president’s signature. Should the funding package deal be signed into law, it could dramatically broaden ICE and Border Patrol’s sources over the next three years.

The invoice would bolster the crackdown on unlawful immigrants, which has been a fixture of the Trump administration since he retook workplace in January 2025. ICE’s funds would also be on top of the $100 billion the Department of Homeland Security obtained last 12 months, which stays unspent.

Republicans voted on the funds, concluding the marathon Senate session, which was dominated by inside GOP turmoil over the president’s immigration coverage. On the other facet of the aisle, Democrats are forcing votes on a sequence of amendments that have focused funding proposed by the White House for the proposed ballroom and to eradicate the $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund that critics say may very well be used to compensate violent January 6 rioters.

None of the amendments had been adopted, however. According to a report, the controversy over the funds uncovered divisions within Republican ranks, as Democrats’ makes an attempt to strip the funding drew some assist from Republicans despite their failure.

The passage of the funds comes as one political commentator warned that the president may resume his Minnesota-style raids after the midterm elections. Speaking to The New Republic, Author and journalist Molly Jong-Fast said that the president’s Minnesota-style ICE raids haven’t gone by the wayside, but have been rigorously delayed.

“I really do believe—and I think it’s important when we cover this to realize—that the reason that every state is not Minnesota at this moment is not because Donald Trump has had an about-face on immigration,” she said to the outlet. “It’s because Donald Trump sees the midterms coming down the pike and he knows it’s not popular.”

In January, the raids by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement company rocked the state of Minnesota after the deaths of Renee Nicole Goode and Alex Pretti. Two weeks after the death of Pretti, 37, Border Czar Tom Homan announced that the operations in the state could be coming to a close.

Jong-Fast is not satisfied that the president has actually stopped the violent raids. “I think he’s got, certainly, an inability to steady himself, to prevent himself from doing things, to prevent himself from saying things,” she added.

According to the creator, “It feels like his frontal lobe is not firing on all four cylinders.” She added, “So the question is, what does a Donald Trump that is not hemmed in by the midterms look like? And I think it looks a lot more like a country of Minnesotas.”

White House Spokesperson Abigail Jackson told The Daily Express that the raids haven’t stopped at all. “Immigration enforcement operations have not stopped,” she said.

“The Trump Administration will continue deporting illegal aliens, now and in the future,” she added.
