President Donald Trump shared a mock-up image of a “drone port” that might be on the roof of the White House ballroom.

Trump explained that the new building’s peak permits for a “very clear view of everything all over Washington,” including that it would also embody a navy hospital and research facility.

“The ballroom is really a shield, protecting all of the things that are built here,” he said.

Trump abruptly and controversially demolished the historic East Wing of the White House in October 2025 to make method for the new building, which can host dinners and large occasions that beforehand had to happen under tents on the White House garden.
