President Donald Trump revealed on Wednesday, Dec. 17, that he can be distributing Christmas funds to choose Americans.
Marking the nation’s founding, Trump announced he is rolling out $1,776 funds for U.S. navy personnel, dubbing the initiative the “Warrior Dividend.”

A senior administration official informed GWN that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth instructed the Pentagon to distribute $2.6 billion as a “one-time basic allowance for housing supplement to all eligible service members in pay grades O-6 and below.”

The official additional told GWN that roughly 1.28 million Active Component navy personnel and 174,000 Reserve Component navy personnel can be recipients of the housing supplement.
Who is paying for Trump’s ‘Warrior Dividend’ checks?
“We made a lot more money than anybody thought because of tariffs, and the bill helped us along,” Trump said. “Nobody deserves it more than our military. And I say congratulations to everybody.”
He also highlighted his One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which turned law on July 4, 2025. Through the enactment of OBBBA, $150 billion was allotted to obligatory funding for bipartisan measures aimed at bolstering national protection, which encompassed enhancing the standard of life for navy personnel.
According to the official, as GWN reported, Congress approved $2.9 billion to the Defense Department to supplement the Basic Allowance for Housing entitlement. “This one-time payment exemplifies the Department’s ongoing commitment to improving the housing and quality of life for our military members and their families,” the official said.
In essence, the Basic Allowance for Housing subsidy has been renamed the “Warrior Dividend.”
This announcement comes as the Defense Department — now working under the title Department of War — revealed the Basic Allowance for Housing Rates on Dec. 11, scheduled to rise by an average of 4.2% beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
