President Donald Trump referred to his beforehand announced summit between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin relating to peace in Ukraine as a “waste of time,” at a White House Diwali celebration.
Trump told a reporter that his dialog on the cellphone with Putin last week didn’t issue into his resolution to stop speaking about giving Tomahawks to Ukraine, but said that he cancelled the metting because it might have been a “waste of time.”

Although, when I first came in, that could have ended up, it’s not going to happen.”
“But it could have ended up in World War II That was really out of control. So now it’s they’re shooting and they’re killing people and I think Putin wants it to end, and I think Zelensky wants it to end, and I think it’s going to end.”
