Tyson Fury has been backed to develop into a boxing promoter after saying his shock retirement from the game. Frank Warren, the Gypsy King’s co-promoter, would welcome Fury into a function at Queensbury Promotions.

The 36-year-old confirmed on social media that he’s stepping away from the ring. He advised followers: “I would like to announce my retirement from boxing.

“It’s been a blast. I’ve beloved each single minute of it and I’m going to finish with this – Dick Turpin wore a masks.”

Warren believes Fury has more to give to boxing and does not want him to quit the sport altogether. He says the duo would have a “good run” if Fury joined Queensbury Promotions.

“I’d have no drawback with him getting concerned with us. We’d have a good run collectively!” the 72-year-old advised Sky Sports. “He’s received a great mind and he is very astute.

“I hope it’s not [goodbye] because he’s got a lot to give boxing outside the ring.”

Warren pointed out that Fury cannot go on forever and had to retire at some point, despite the surprise of his announcement this week.

“Of course he can’t. No fighter can,” he continued. “At the tip of the day you’ve to face actuality. Not that he ought to retire, I’m saying financially he can, there was nothing in that struggle between the 2 of them (Fury and Oleksandr Usyk).

“He was two-time world champion. He’s done it twice and he done it in the other guy’s backyard.”

Fury has beforehand introduced his retirement from boxing, saying in 2022 that he was quitting the game. He subsequently returned however misplaced his heavyweight title to Oleksandr Usyk final May, and was then defeated within the rematch.

Rival promoter Eddie Hearn just isn’t satisfied that Fury is definitely retiring. The boxing icon has been strongly linked with a struggle in opposition to Hearn’s consumer Anthony Joshua.
