UN Ambassador Bursts Mamdanis Bubble Over His | Political News

When will the members of the far-Left cabal study?

New York City, as the home of the United Nations headquarters, is internet hosting the U.N. General Assembly in the autumn. And Democratic Socialist NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani expressed during a latest interview with a New York Times interviewer that he is holding onto a deeply-held want and marketing campaign promise: to have Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrested when the world chief arrives in his metropolis to attend it.

“I believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu belongs in the Hague,” Mr. Mamdani told Lulu Garcia-Navarro this week on “The Interview,” a New York Times show, referring to the home of the United Nations’ International Court of Justice.

“He’s a war criminal who has been charged by the International Criminal Court,” Mr. Mamdani added. “And what you will find is that is an opinion that is held by many, purely because of what his actions have wrought over these last many years.”

Mamdani wasn’t completed, though, admitting that he is not 100% sure “whether he has the legal authority” to do it, and to that end, he is still consulting with his administration’s Law Department.

Netanyahu, meanwhile, told a WABC radio host that Mamdani’s phrases make it clear to everybody whose aspect he is on – that of terrorists like Hamas:

As my colleague Ward Clark wrote, this man is in approach over his head right here:

The United States is not beholden to the International Criminal Court (ICC). The ICC has no jurisdiction in U.S. territory, and Mayor Mamdani has no legal grounds to order the Israeli PM’s arrest. But that would not stop him from yapping about it.

Well, we do still have the First Amendment, so I say let him speak. Someone else with ideas on Mamdani’s empty risk was U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz, who only needed 4 bullet factors to dispense with the mayor’s apparent “political theater”:

Mayor Mamdani: right here’s why your risk to arrest PM Netanyahu’s in NYC during UNGA isn’t going to occur:

1. The U.S. isn’t social gathering to the Rome Statute that underlies the ICC,

2. The UN Headquarters Agreement grants diplomatic protections to visiting heads of gov’t,

3. head-of-state immunity applies, &

4. federal authority trumps any local mayor’s needs.

This is pure political theater.

Exactly proper. Another factor I might have introduced up is the fact that the Trump administration stood up to the UN legal physique as lately as this week, and beforehand punished many of these rogue ICC judges for charging members of our army, as effectively.

The ICC May Have to Go Through the United States to Arrest Benjamin Netanyahu

Wasn’t it just a week in the past when Mayor Mamdani’s workplace bought caught making an attempt to meet with the Iranian ambassador? Who does that, and thinks it is in a metropolis mayor’s job description? Whether it is free public transit, government-run grocery shops, or arresting world leaders on behalf of an illegitimate world court, somebody wants to put Mamdani in his place. It’s been clear for a while now that he really doesn’t perceive what the job is that he was employed to do.
