US unleashes deadly Caribbean strike killing three | Political News

The U.S. navy launched “a lethal kinetic strike” on a suspected drug-smuggling vessel in the Caribbean, killing three suspected male narco-terrorists, the U.S. Southern Command announced Monday on X.

“On Feb. 23, at the direction of #SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations,” U.S. Southern Command wrote Monday on X, sharing video footage of the deadly strike.

“Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Caribbean and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Three male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed.”

Monday’s assault marks the sixth identified strike on an alleged drug-trafficking boat in the area this month.

It comes just days after the U.S. navy announced Friday, Feb. 20, that it carried out a comparable assault in the jap Pacific.

SOUTHCOM announced Friday on X that three suspected male narco-terrorists have been killed after the U.S. navy launched a “lethal kinetic strike” on a  “known narco-trafficking route” in the Pacific Ocean.

The United States navy said it attacked a boat in the jap Pacific, killing three people, in the latest strike on a vessel in worldwide waters that Washington alleges was concerned in drug trafficking. The strike was also carried out by the Joint Task Force Southern Spear under the command of Gen. Donovan.

“On Feb. 20, at the direction of #SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations,” SOUTHCOM wrote Friday on X, attaching video footage from the assault.

“Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Three male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed.”

Prior to Friday’s announcement, SOUTHCOM said earlier in the week that 11 people have been killed after it launched three separate assaults on vessels in the area.

The operations are half of a broader effort of the Trump administration to crack down on illicit narcotics crossing the border into the U.S. amid the nation’s ongoing opioid overdose epidemic.

The navy bombing marketing campaign identified as Operation Southern Spear is designed to block drug cartel operations and curb medication from crossing the U.S. border, according to Trump administration officers.
