“A new warning from President Trump for Hamas, demanding they disarm. Warning if they don’t disarm, we will disarm them, perhaps violently,” he continued. This follows Hamas‘s settlement to free all captives under the recent ceasefire deal struck between Tel Aviv and the militant group.
David pressed on with his coverage: “The president today praising the peace plan that he brokered to get Israel and Hamas to this level and to get those hostages home late today, Hamas releasing the bodies of four hostages who were killed in captivity, eight bodies now returned out of 28.
“Israel tonight, accusing Hamas of violating the reality by not releasing all of the stays for these households, an American household among those still ready tonight. It comes after the ultimate 20 residing hostages had been launched,” the news presenter concluded.
“We had been there, of course, as the world witnessed these emotional returns tonight right here, the horrific particulars now rising about their brutal, two-year ordeal as captives of Hamas, ABC’s Chief Foreign Correspondent Ian Pannell, main us off tonight from Tel Aviv,” David concluded as he handed over to his colleague.
Footage then aired of the scenes from Israel as Ian provided the latest on the situation.
A clip of the segment was shared on ABC World News Tonight’s Instagram along with the caption, “After the world witnessed the return of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, Pres. Trump warned Hamas that they must disarm, or the U.S. will disarm them, maybe violently. Ian Pannell reviews on the horror tales rising from newly freed hostages.”
Viewers were quick to comment on the update, with one user admitting, “I’m very blissful for the people that’s getting free, but I’m very scared for America. This could be worse because Trump is getting concerned with all people’s business. I do not know why.”
A second user also pointed out, “Trump goes to get the US concerned in a battle if he does not watch it,” with another adding, “Threatening violence does not sound like a lot of a peace plan to me..
“Threats of more violence…they’ll be more violent than all the war crime already committed through this genocide? How about liberation instead?” a fourth fumed. While another person argued, “He’s actually threatening the violent ones, as he should. how else would you deal with blood thirsty terrorists? ! they don’t understand any language but violence!”.
Despite the uncertainty, a sixth penned, “Happy to see people going back to their families,” adopted by a white coronary heart emoji.
