WHAT’S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill…

The critters being on a break would not stop Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) from frequently sharing his pearls of knowledge. As our Sister Toldjah wrote, in a latest Fox News interview, Kennedy supplied some sound advice for his Democrat colleagues:

I do not know Mr. Jeffries that nicely. I do know Sen. Schumer very nicely, so I say this with respect: Chuck and Hakeem need to go to Amazon, buy some testicles, and stand up to the loon wing of their social gathering.

One suspects they’re unlikely to heed it.

  • Judge Stephanie Gallagher (Maryland) granted abstract judgment to the plaintiffs on 5 of the six counts of their criticism — BUT…she did also grant the administration’s movement to dismiss one of those counts — in American Federation of Teachers v. Dept. of Education (concerning the banning of DEI-related programming).

COMING ATTRACTIONS

Confession: I’ve no concept what next week (or even this weekend) might deliver. I’ll share with our readers this enjoyable fact, however: Yours really shall be on precise, bona fide trip beginning Tuesday (through next Sunday), so the Morning Minutes shall be on momentary (three-day) hiatus after Tuesday’s installment. Hopefully, the world would not go to hell in a handbasket while I’m making an attempt to take pleasure in some R&R.

MORNING MUSING

As famous above, all eyes shall be on Alaska today as the extremely anticipated Trump-Putin summit takes place this afternoon. I used to be pondering the last time the 2 had met was in Helsinki, Finland, in 2018, but there have been a couple of G20 summits (Argentina in November 2018 and Japan in June 2019) following that. Still, it has been over six years since the pair met face-to-face. And there’s been a lot of water under the bridge in that time. A. Lot.

I am unable to fake to have any foresight as to what — if something — will come of today’s assembly. I’m not even going to speculate. What I do know (apart from being sure the left and legacy media will spin it as a unfavourable regardless) is that Trump 2025 is older and wiser than Trump 2018-19. Sure…Putin is, too, but I’m not sure his character has ever allowed for a lot, uh, “growth.”

What I hope that interprets into is Trump having the ability to absolutely assess the steps obligatory to shield America’s pursuits — and, God prepared, to help deliver about an end to the killing, as he is so often advocated.
