Wheel of Fortune fans fume contestant was robbed | TV Shows
Wheel of Fortune fans are claiming a contestant was “robbed” due to Ryan Seacrest’s mistake, which comes following growing concern for the host.
On Tuesday’s episode, contestant Pia ran out of time in the Speed Up part as Ryan Seacrest took a long time to clarify the query to her. However, Pia, who said she knew the reply, ended up shedding out on $10,000 due to the error.
This also is not the first time fans have spoken out in anger because, in May, they shared their frustrations about a glitch that meant a Drew Barrymore commercial performed on repeat during the show.
Yet on September 16, after watching the most latest episode, viewers took to Reddit to share their frustration at Pia’s scenario. “Watching tonight, 9/16, Pia got buzzed out too soon on the final puzzle. Seriously don’t believe they gave her the three seconds. She got “cheered out of $10k+,” one person said. “I imagine the 4 seconds is from letter time, she acquired buzzed 3 seconds from her spin.”
A second Redditor also added, “Pia was robbed. He talked through her time.”
A third person further chimed in on the conversation, saying they ran to Reddit to find out if other people felt the same as them. “I seemed up and joined this subreddit just to look for this remark!!! Dude, he wouldn’t shut up, and she KNEW the puzzle! I’m so mad for her lol,” they said.
However, one person, who claimed to be at the episode’s filming, said, “Was at the taping for today’s show back in April. There was certainly controversy at the end of the Speed Up. Pia was bowled over by the only vowels left sound and appeared to be ready for Ryan to end explaining what it meant, though she had the puzzle discovered.”
But the Redditor explained that Ryan spoke to Pia after, asking if she knew the answer, which she did. This is when the show supposedly decided “that they’d play an extra $2,500 TDV [Top Dollar Value] spinning spherical.” The viewer then said she went on to win this spherical, getting herself some further money.
