White House proclaims Trump has full confidence | Political News
The White House proclaimed on Thursday that President Donald Trump has “full confidence” in Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, despite rumors that he’s about to be fired.
Speaking to a reporter from The Daily Express U.S., the White House slammed the rumors that originated from a Daily Beat podcast. “This is total fake news – but that’s to be expected from the TDS-ridden shitposters at the Daily Beast,” White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said.
“President Trump has full confidence in Secretary Hegseth and appreciates all he is doing to restore a focus on readiness and lethality at the Department of War,” she added. The Pentagon also confirmed that Hegseth was not leaving anytime soon.
“The Daily Beast has no credibility whatsoever, “Pentagon Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson said. “The ramblings of their Washington bureau chief should be taken no more seriously than the ramblings of a crackhead on the street.”
“Secretary Hegseth’s position is far more secure than that of a Daily Beast staffer, whose organization was gutted last year following massive buyouts and layoffs,” they added. The rumblings the Secretary Hegseth is likely to be out of a job got here from Daily Beast’s Washington bureau chief David Gardner.
The alleged firing comes after months of leaks and shake-ups within the Department of War. “We were told early on that Trump did not want a repeat of his first administration, where it was kind of chaos,” Gardner to Joanne Coles.
“He was firing people, hiring people, it was a lot of unrest within the administration,” he added. “We were told he was going to give his Cabinet—most of his leading Cabinet members—a year, so there wasn’t this kind of constant departure things.”

“So my guess is, watch out for January and Pete Hegseth, because I don’t think he’s going to last much longer than that first year,” said Gardner. Daily Beast political reporter Sarah Ewall-Wice commented that the one-year strategy might be part of a broader plan by the president.
“If you say your cabinet members are not going to be long-term choices from the get-go, then you put them in this competition from the get-go to basically fight it out and prove who’s the most loyal to the president,” she said. “So it’s really a fight for the president’s attention and support more than it is a fight for the job and the department.”
According to Gardner, Hegseth is at the “backside of the record in phrases of effectivity and top of the record in phrases of suck ups.” Gardner has acknowledged Hegseth has been “taking very much a back step to the whole procedure,” while Secretary of State Marco Rubio is the apple of the president’s eye.
“I don’t think he’s trusting him,” he said of Trump and Hegseth. “I seem to remember the last meeting in the Middle East, he was put on a separate plane from the others, Hegseth. Again, sending a message perhaps.”
