Why We Must Carry the Torch – RedState | Political News
By Cliff Maloney
My good friend, mentor, and American visionary, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated in cold blood by a sick, deranged man.
The sheer horror of that act is sort of an excessive amount of to put into phrases. I stay heartbroken, but I also stay dedicated because Charlie’s mission didn’t die with him. If something, it just turned more pressing and more highly effective than ever.
I don’t need this just to be a tribute or a reminder of what he stood for.
I would like it to be a call to motion. A promise to save America, and in the course of, honor his final sacrifice.
Charlie had a profound affect on so many lives
I shared a thread on X a few days in the past about Charlie Kirk’s mentorship and help over the years in my own life, and I used to be actually touched by the outpouring of supportive posts, and even cellphone calls from others. They shared the affect he had in their lives, tales of their interactions with him, both online and in particular person, and the highly effective grassroots motion he created in this nation.
I’ve also seen many outstanding conservative voices speaking about how deeply Charlie impacted them and their own mission to restore our constitutional republic, and just as many shared what an superb particular person he was.
It is heartwarming and inspiring to see how, in his 31 years of life, he impacted so many people.
These messages from pals, allies, and even outdoors observers show Charlie’s life wasn’t just about politics; it was about character, love, and most of all, reality.
The left’s reactions to Charlie’s assassination
We merely can’t ignore the fact that many on the left have been seen celebrating Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
Videos, memes, and posts mocking his mindless killing and laughing at his household, posts saying he “deserved” it, and that they needed to see more of this kind of demonic conduct.
It’s a stain on civil discourse, a black eye on the soul of our nation. It’s not only deeply improper, it’s also extraordinarily harmful.
Hearing that people are cheering after a political assassination—cheering the death of a father, a husband, a good friend…— chills me to my core in methods I didn’t suppose have been conceivable.
It jogs my memory just how fragile our lives and our liberties are, how very important trust and decency are. It makes the work Charlie was doing all that a lot more important because hatred left unchecked destroys not just people — it destroys the risk of debate, of unity, and of hope.
That destroys societies.
We must decide up the playbook and continue Charlie’s mission
Charlie’s life was about his mission of fostering an open debate between residents of all political views.
It was about combating for reality, for free speech, for the concept that younger people matter, that concepts matter, that freedom issues. He constructed Turning Point and many other efforts to give youth not just perception, but instruments: door knocking, talking out, organizing, and strategy.
If we’re to honor his final sacrifice, we must do more than just keep in mind. We must act. We must comply with Charlie’s directive, “Do the work”:
-
The perception that reality issues — particularly when it’s unpopular.
-
The braveness to converse reality in arenas where silence is less complicated.
-
The work of empowering younger people, giving them not just voice, but company.
-
The resolve to interact face-to-face, to knock doorways, to construct local energy, to shift hearts and minds, not just headlines.
This is what he lived for.
This is the only factor that can save America.
We are at our own turning level as a nation. If we lean into worry or pull back, if we silence ourselves — then the values Charlie cared so a lot about will erode in America. But if we lean ahead, if we converse plainly, if we manage, and if we refuse to let hate win — then we construct one thing stronger.
How will we transfer ahead?
I keep in mind when I ran Young Americans for Liberty and later launched Citizens Alliance, Charlie always inspired me to look at the big image, and he always helped with strategy. I do know what works because I labored with him, and now, I would like to put that into the arms of as many people as potential.
So right here’s how we feature on:
We keep knocking doorways in states like Pennsylvania and key goal states. We keep investing in real grassroots efforts. We keep supporting free speech on faculty campuses, in public boards, and online. We keep pushing back against censorship. And we keep volunteering, training, talking, and organizing.
I’m not asking anybody to be fearless, because Charlie definitely walked into some scary conditions himself; he was human. What made him outstanding, though, was his braveness, a braveness we need to exemplify not because we live without worry but because we transfer on in spite of worry.
We construct unity among those who imagine in liberty. Not uniformity, but shared objective. Charlie mentored tens of millions of warriors. Me. You. Countless others. He created an military of conservatives dedicated to restoring the rules America was based on, and the best manner to honor him is to do the work — not for fame, but for most impact.

We’re now standing at a essential turning level
Charlie Kirk modified America.
Not with noise, but with laborious work, reality, and absolute dedication.
He was precisely who we noticed. He always did what he said he would do, and that is uncommon and valuable.
So right here’s my tribute to you, Charlie — we is not going to be damaged. We will stand taller. We will act more bravely. And most importantly, we’ll end what you began. Not for glory, but for liberty, for reality, for our kids, for the soul of America, and for you and your loved ones.
Your mission lives on, and we’re the ones who carry it ahead.
Rest now, brother. You’ve carried out more than anybody may have requested of you.
I miss you, I like you, and I’ll make it my life’s work to end the mission you began.
