Dem Legislator Has Wild Exchange With Cop During TN Redistricting Battle

On Thursday, the Florida House Rules and Ethics Committee formally reprimanded Nixon for breaking House guidelines by utilizing the bullhorn.

The House Ethics Committee has formally voted to reprimand Rep. Angie Nixon for “intentionally and repeatedly” breaking House guidelines during the April 29 session.

“When our rules become suggestions, the rights of every member of this House become less secure.”

The committee discovered that Nixon’s use of a megaphone on the House flooring created an atmosphere of “confusion and chaos.”

Because every little thing is silly, and because she desires to draw consideration to herself and raise money for her Senate marketing campaign, Nixon staged what she called a “moral sit-in” at DeSantis’ workplace on Friday to protest the new map and to call for it to be undone:

A few hours after it began, and because of an unwillingness on Nixon’s half to depart, Gov. DeSantis had her arrested, and she was charged with trespassing. When the news broke on X of what occurred, he responded in basic DeSantis fashion:

Later, DeSantis tweeted that she deserved to be arrested, noting that “Our office isn’t a platform for this performative nonsense.”

Republicans maintain 20 of Florida’s 28 congressional seats. The new map, if it survives the current court challenges, may probably internet them another 4 seats in the upcoming midterm elections.
