128 House Democrats Vote Against Rep. Al Green’s…

On Tuesday, Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) voted along with dozens of House Democrats, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, in favor of starting an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump over the president’s strikes on three Iranian nuclear amenities over the weekend, a resolution made unilaterally by the manager department without the session or approval of Congress.

In his five-page measure, Green argued that Trump “disregarded the doctrine of separation of powers by usurping Congress’s power to declare war.” Unfortunately, most Democrats, 128 to be precise, disagreed that Trump must be impeached, so they voted against the measure along with every single House Republican who was current for the (*128*).

In truth, not only did 128 Democrats (*128*) the other approach of the 79 Dems who agreed that Trump must be impeached, but, apparently, many of them are upset that the (*128*) even occurred in the first place.

From Axios:

“A completely unserious and selfish move,” one House Democrat instructed Axios on the situation of anonymity to communicate candidly about a colleague.

Another House Democrat stated there’s “a lot” of anger about the (*128*) — including, “I think you heard it from leadership today, they’re frustrated.”

“Most people think it’s unhelpful,” a third House Democrat instructed Axios.

Several lawmakers famous that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) voted against the decision, as did House Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

Here’s the factor: if the impeachment course of have been as easy as many people appear to imagine it’s, Trump’s total time as commander in chief (including his first time period) would serve as a purpose to give him the ax. A president must be eliminated from workplace when that president is a compulsive liar who normalizes hate speech against Black and Latino migrants, spreads propaganda about white Afrikaners fleeing a fictional “white genocide” in order to justify letting them into the nation, weaponizes the National Guard and Marine troops against largely peaceable protesters, decides he only wants to uphold the Constitution when it’s handy for him, launches a disasterous tariff battle against quite a few nations, including our allies, and illegally strikes to defund any instittuion that doesn’t fall in line with his racist, sexist and propaganda-reliant battle on variety, equity and inclusion. (And this is admittedly just a short record of causes Trump shouldn’t be president.)

However, even if Democrats might discover an impeachable offense against Trump that no elected official with integrity would deny, Republicans would still deny it. Even if House Democrats have been ready to efficiently impeach the president — which, in this case, would have been a long shot even if Democrats have been on board, as the GOP still holds the House majority — the U.S. Senate, which is also Republican-controlled, would have to (*128*) to take away him. (There’s a purpose Democrats couldn’t efficiently take away Trump even after he instigated a home terrorist assault on the U.S. Capitol by spreading baseless propaganda about the 2020 election being rigged against him.)

So, perhaps those 128 Democrats are spineless politicians who refuse to get out of their own approach and lack the braveness to go up against arguably probably the most corrupt president in any of their lifetimes, or perhaps they just know a shedding battle that will do more hurt to their social gathering than good when they see one.

Or perhaps, when it comes to international coverage (including blind help for Israel), Democrats just aren’t a lot totally different than Republicans.

Either approach, Trump ain’t getting impeached or eliminated (yet), and the nation is all the more serious for it.
