Rapper Soulja Boy was arrested early Sunday morning after a evening out celebrating his birthday when police discovered a firearm in a vehicle during a site visitors stop in Los Angeles, according to authorities.
The 35-year-old artist, whose actual identify is DeAndre Cortez Way, was a passenger in a vehicle cops pulled over around 2:30 a.m. in Melrose, the Los Angeles Police Department advised NBC Los Angeles.
Officers noticed a gun inside the vehicle and later arrested Way on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, police mentioned.

It’s not yet clear why the car was stopped.
Way was out late celebrating his birthday at Poppy, a membership in West Hollywood, on Saturday evening before his arrest, according to Instagram posts.
“I don’t need no security,” he posted in a video of himself on the crowded membership dance ground.

The rapper had turned 35, days earlier on Monday.
Way was beforehand arrested for carrying a loaded gun during a site visitors stop in January 2014, GWN reported at the time.
In 2011, the “Crank That” singer was also booked during a site visitors stop in Georgia, where marijuana, money, and weapons have been discovered in a car he was driving in. He was booked on felony charges alongside 4 others, the Los Angeles Times beforehand reported.
In April, a jury slapped him with a $4.25 million verdict for inappropriate assault claims waged by a lady he used to dwell with, according to Courthouse News.
It’s not immediately recognized if the musician has been launched or has retained legal illustration.
The LAPD didn’t reply to the Post’s request for remark by the time of publication.
