Great British Bake Off sparks fury as fans issue major | UK News

Channel 4 viewers have been left unimpressed after recognizing an “unhygienic” and “disgusting” second on the latest episode of the Great British Bake Off. Tuesday’s episode (September 16) of the Channel 4 culinary contest noticed a sequence of contestants compete for a spot on the next episode by baking up a storm in an effort to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. As hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond toured around the cookery tables, the wannabe bakers took on the Monkey Bread problem. It was at this level that eagle-eyed fans noticed chef Nadia touching her hair and then immediately touching her food.

It did not take long after the unhygienic scenes unfolded that fans flocked to X – previously identified as Twitter – to share their disgust online. Many dubbed it as “unhygienic and “disgusting”, with one blasting: “Stop touching your hair NADIA and then touching the food – disgusting!!!”. Another penned: “It really bugs me that these women are just letting their hair freely go over the food like that” while a third penned: “I really just wanna grab all of Nadia’s hair and tie it up properly!!”

Elsewhere, fans had a lot to say about the problem itself as they welcomed Bread Week, with many claiming that they had never even heard of Monkey Bread.

“Welcome back to the tent bakers, for bread week. For your first challenge, the judges would love you to bake a delicious, savoury monkey bread,” presenter Alison announced.

Noel added: “Now you have to make your own monkey bread, you can’t steal some bread off a monkey and bake that,”

Alison continued: “The judges are looking for a well-flavoured, pull-apart loaf made with a yeasted-bread dough.”

Noel explained: “Your monkey bread needs to be visually striking through the use of coloured, flavoured doughs, glazes, coatings or toppings.”

But fans have been rapidly taking to social media to proclaim their confusion. “Has anyone else NEVER heard of monkey bread before?!” requested one fan.

Another agreed: “Never heard of Monkey Bread! Sounds good though” and “genuinely wtf is monkey bread”.

Monkey bread is alternatively referred to as “tear and share” bread, sometimes candy and ready in a bundt tin.

The problem left some bakers “panicking” while others feared being “torn apart” by Paul.

They employed a vary of ingredients to improve the style of their monkey bread, incorporating onion soup, nduja, olives, pears and stilton.

Mixed reactions poured in as contestant Pui Man was the latest chef to get the boot on the show after an underwhelming efficiency.

“Why are people shocked about Pui Man? She should have gone the first week!” blasted one fan. Another added: “Pui man , surprised by that, thought she’d saved herself”

“DIVA DOWN :(” said another. More chimed in including: “Ahhh I’m sad about that,” and “Not happy with Pui Man leaving. Excellent showstopper.”
