Jimmy Kimmel fights tears in monologue & outlines | TV Shows

Jimmy Kimmel made an emotional comeback to host his late-night program, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, following its indefinite suspension due to his remarks about right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk. During the speech, Kimmel claimed Germany provided him a job as he slammed President Trump.

During his monologue before the show’s cancellation, he had accused the “MAGA gang” of trying to politicize the death of the conservative influencer.

The response was swift as outstanding ABC affiliate networks, Sinclair and Nexstar, pulled Kimmel from the airwaves “indefinitely,” while Trump also attacked the comic, branding him ‘untalented’.

Despite fierce criticism from Republicans, Kimmel staged his victorious comeback to his time slot on Tuesday night, experiences the Mirror. He opened his monologue with humor, telling the viewers: “We are preempting your regularly scheduled encore episode of Celebrity Family Feud to bring you this special. I’m happy to be here tonight with you”.

“Who had a weirder 48 hours – me or the CEO of Tylenol?” He continued: “It’s been overwhelming…I’ve heard from all the people in the world over the last six days,” before naming all the people from his past who emerged to offer their assist.

He subsequently expressed gratitude to fellow late-night hosts for standing by him. “I do especially want to mention my fellow late-night talk show hosts. My friend Stephen Colbert, who has found himself in this predicament, my friend John Stewart, Seth Myers, Jimmy Fallon, John Oliver, Conan O’Brien, James Cordon,” he said.

He cracked a joke about a German late-night host offering him employment, remarking: “Can you imagine? This country has become so authoritarian that the Germans are like, ‘Come here!'”.

“Most of all, I want to thank the people who don’t support my show and what I believe, but support my right to share those beliefs anyway. I never would have imagined that Ben Shapiro, Clay Travis, Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul, even my old pal Ted Cruz, who believe it or not said something very beautiful on my behalf. Even though I don’t agree with many of those people on most subjects, some of the things they say even make me want to throw up. It takes courage for them to speak out against this administration. They did and they deserve credit for it.

“Our authorities can’t be allowed to control what we do and don’t say on tv, and that we have now to stand up to it,” he said. “I’ve been listening to a lot about what I need to say and do tonight, and the reality is, I do not suppose what I’ve to say goes to make a lot of a distinction. If you want me, you want me; if you do not, you do not; I’ve no illusions about altering anybody’s thoughts.

“It’s important to me as a human, and that is, you understand that it was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man,” Kimmel expressed, his voice crammed with emotion. I do not suppose there’s something humorous about it.

“I posted a message on Instagram on the day he was killed, sending love to his family and asking for compassion and I meant it. I still do. Nor was it my intention to blame any specific group for the actions of what was obviously a deeply disturbed individual. That was really the opposite of the point I was trying to make. But I understand that to some, that felt either ill-timed or unclear, or maybe both. And for those who think I did, point a finger, I get why you’re upset. If the situation was reversed, there’s a good chance I’d have felt the same way.”

Continuing on the Kirk homicide, he said: “I have many friends and family members on the other side who I love and remain close to even though we don’t agree on politics at all. I don’t think the murderer who shot Charlie Kirk represents anyone. This was a sick person who believed violence was a solution and it isn’t. Ever.

“And also selfishly, I’m a particular person who will get a lot of threats. I get a lot of ugly and scary threats against my life, my spouse, my youngsters, my co-workers because of what I select to say. And I do know those threats do not come from the sort of people on the best who I do know and love. That’s what I wished to say on that subject and I do not need to make this about me because, I do know this is what people say when they make issues about them, but I actually do not. This show shouldn’t be important. What is important is that we get to live in a nation that permits us to have a show like this.”

Kimmel went on to explain: “I’ve had the chance to meet and spend time with comedians and discuss show hosts from nations like Russia, nations in the Middle East who inform me they’d get thrown in prison for making enjoyable of those in energy. And worse than being thrown in prison, they know how fortunate we’re right here. Our freedom to communicate is what they admire most about this nation. Brendan Carr, the chairman of the FCC, telling an American company, ‘We can do this the easy way or the hard way and these companies can find ways to change conduct and take action on Kimmel or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead’.

“In addition to being a direct violation of the First Amendment, it isn’t a notably clever menace to make in public,” he said. “Ted Cruz said he seemed like a mafioso. Although, I do not know. If you need to hear a mob boss make a menace like that, you’ve to disguise a microphone in a deli and park outdoors in a van with a tape recorder all evening long. This genius said it on a podcast. Brendan Carr is the most embarrassing car Republicans have embraced since this one,” before showing a picture of a Tesla spray painted with ‘TRUMP’.

Blasting the FCC, Kimmel addressed the audience: “The FCC has a custom of meddling where they should not under many administrations, but it wasn’t always like this. There was an FCC commissioner back in 2022 who labored under Joe Biden who was spot on. He wrote, ‘President Biden is correct. Political satire is one of the oldest and most important kinds of free speech. It challenges those in energy while utilizing humour to draw more people into the dialogue. That’s why people in influential positions have always focused it for censorship.’ You know who wrote that? FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr, who later was appointed chairman of the FCC by this former crusader for free speech.”

He then revealed remarks delivered by Trump, who declared at a gathering: “If we do not have free speech, then we just do not have a free nation. It’s as simple as that. If this most basic proper is allowed to perish, then the remaining of our rights and liberties will topple just like dominoes. One by one, they’re going to go down.”

Kimmel then chimed in: “That was also in 2022. And I’m wondering how did that man flip into this man,” before rolling a clip of Trump telling a reporter who he’d like to see replace Kimmel: “Rather a lot of people, anyone might substitute him. Guy had no expertise. Kimmel had, look, he was fired. He had no expertise. He’s a whack job, but he had no expertise. And more importantly the expertise he had, because a lot of people have no expertise they get scores but he had no scores.” With a quick retort, Kimmel confidently told his audience: “Well, I do tonight,” as they erupted in cheers.

“You virtually have to really feel sorry for him. He tried his best to cancel me. Instead, he pressured hundreds of thousands of people to watch the show. That backfired bigly. He may need to release the Epstein recordsdata to distract us from this now. Rather a lot of people have been asking me if there are circumstances for my return to the air, and there may be one. Disney has requested me to read the next assertion, and I’ve agreed to do it. With that said, I used to be not completely satisfied when they pulled me off the air. I didn’t agree with that resolution and I told them that and we had many conversations. I shared my level of view. They shared theirs. We talked it through and at the end, even though they did not have to. They actually did not have to. This is a giant company. We have short consideration spans and I’m a tiny half of the Disney Corporation. and they welcomed me back on the air and I thank them for that.

“I think unjustly this puts them at risk. The president of the United States made it very clear he wants to see me and the hundreds of people who work here fired from our jobs. Our leader celebrates Americans losing their livelihoods because he can’t take a joke. He was somehow able to squeeze Colbert out of CBS. Then he turned his sights on me and now he’s openly rooting for NBC to fire Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers and the hundreds of Americans who work for their shows who don’t make millions of dollars. And I hope that if that happens or if there’s even any hint of that happening, you will be 10 times as loud as you were this week. We have to speak out against this because he’s not stopping. And it’s not just comedy. He’s gunning for our journalists, too. He’s suing them. He’s bullying them. Over the weekend, his Foxy friend Pete Hegseth announced a new policy that requires journalists with Pentagon press credentials to sign a pledge, promising not to report information that hasn’t been explicitly authorised for release. They want to pick and choose what the news is. I know that’s not as interesting as muzzling a comedian, but it’s so important to have a free press, and it is nuts that we aren’t paying more attention to it.

“Walter Cronkite must be spinning in his grave proper now. He’s lifeless, proper? Look, I never imagined I’d be in a state of affairs like this. I barely paid consideration in college. But one factor I did study from Lenny Bruce and George Carlin and Howard Stern is that a authorities menace to silence a comic the president does not like is anti-American. That’s anti-American. And I’m so glad we have now some solidarity on that from the best and left and from those in the center like Joe Rogan. Maybe the silver lining from this is we discovered one factor we are able to agree on and possibly we’ll even discover another one. Maybe we are able to get a little bit nearer together. We do agree on a lot of issues. We agree on conserving our youngsters secure from weapons, on reproductive rights for girls, social security, inexpensive health care, pediatric cancer research. These are all issues that most Americans assist. Let’s stop letting these politicians inform us what they need and inform them what we would like.”

Becoming emotional once more, he spoke about Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika. He said: “There was a second over the weekend, a very lovely second. I do not know if you noticed this on Sunday. Erica Kirk forgave the person who shot her husband. She forgave him. That is an instance we must always observe. If you consider in the teachings of Jesus as I do, there it was. That’s it. A selfless act of grace, forgiveness from a grieving widow. It touched me deeply and I hope it touches many and if there’s something we must always take from this tragedy to carry ahead, I hope it may be that and not this. So, thanks for listening and I’ll have I’ll have more to say when we come back.”

Following the commercial break, he informed viewers: “We are still on the air in most of the nation besides mockingly for Washington DC where we have now been preempted. We are off the air in Nashville, New Orleans, Portland, Oregon, Salt Lake City, and St. Louis where none of my spouse’s household is in a position to watch the show tonight. So, sorry, Aunt Sharon. He has, to his credit, agreed to join us from his office in Washington, and here he is now. Thank you, Chairman Carr, for being with us tonight.”

surprisingly, Robert De Niro appeared on screen portraying Brendan in a comedy sketch. “You don’t need to know my name, and I am the new chairman of the FCC,” De Niro declared.

The host caught him making threats toward The View’s Whoopi Goldberg, though De Niro claimed he was merely “teaching a lesson about consequences.

“It looks like the FCC is utilizing mob ways to suppress free speech,” Kimmel observed, prompting De Niro to respond: “What the f*** did you just say to me?” He added: “About that free speech? It ain’t free no more. We’re charging by the phrase now.”

Following the sketch, Kimmel proceeded to present Trump updates, disclosing that the previous president hadn’t (during taping) commented on ABC’s selection to reinstate him.
