Pennsylvania State Police are asking for help discovering a missing pilot who took off in a small aircraft in Indiana County on Wednesday night and didn’t return.
Troopers said David Edward Wittmer, 75, was flying the ultralight plane and training touch-and-go landings in a subject close to Church Street in Young Township. He was reported to have taken off from the sphere around 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and has not yet returned.
Wittmer’s truck was discovered close to the sphere, and his cellphone was situated inside a close by camper he was utilizing.
According to a release from state police, investigators imagine Wittmer and the plane are doubtless to be discovered within a two to six-mile radius of the sphere. They added that, however, the plane could have a vary of up to 100 miles.
State troopers, members of the PSP Aviation Patrol Unit and local firefighters searched in a single day and resumed looking out again Thursday morning.
Wittmer is described as 6 ft, 1 inch tall, weighing 180 kilos, with grey hair and brown eyes.
