U.S. President Donald Trump announced he’s assembly with Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought to decide which “Democrat Agencies” he’ll cut.
The announcement comes a day after White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt warned that mass firings across the federal authorities had been “imminent,” with inside sources telling Politico that it will occur “in a day or two.” The assembly will happen as the federal authorities enters its second day of a authorities shutdown, as tens of hundreds are compelled to work without pay.
“I have a meeting today with Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut, and whether or not or not those cuts will probably be momentary or everlasting,” Trump wrote Thursday on Truth Social.
Earlier this week, Congressional Democrats voted against a persevering with decision to fund the federal government, which sparked the shutdown.
The Washington Post warned in a Wednesday editorial about the shutdown that Democrats fell for a “trap” laid out by the Trump administration, which the president referenced in his Truth Social post.
“I can’t believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity,” Trump boasted on Truth Social.
He went on to recommend Democrats secretly needed him to proceed with his austerity measures, cutting federal businesses and advantages such as Medicaid, while heeding his mass deportation operation, among other coverage agendas.
“[Democrats] are not stupid people, so maybe this is their way of wanting to, quietly and quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DJT,” he added.
Vought is a key architect of the right-wing suppose tank The Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025. He also has longstanding ties to Vice President J.D. Vance, who has advocated for such widespread federal authorities gutting for years.

“Expect him to follow through in a way that maximizes pain for Democrats, who will probably face pressure from their allies in government labor unions after employees are fired and others are forced to work without pay,” it continued.
“While congressional Democrats have so far put up a mostly unified front, coalescing around a demand to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies that expire at the end of the year, there’s no guarantee the party’s resolve will last.”
