Ex-Coronation Street star turned away from Ricky | Boxing News

Former Coronation Street star Steven Arnold appeared to be tuned away from Ricky Hatton’s funeral on Friday as mourners paid their respects to the boxing legend. The funeral occurred at Manchester Cathedral and noticed numerous well-known faces from TV, music, and sports activities flip up.

Hatton, who was discovered useless at home at the age of 46 last month, was one of Britian’s most beloved boxers and received world titles in two weight divisions in his prime. Following a drive through Manchester, a service occurred at the City’s cathedral to honour his life. After the service, there was a stop-off at the Etihad Stadium, the home of Hatton’s beloved Man City.

As friends made their manner to the service, security had been at the door making checks. A clip shown on Gossip Wire News exhibits former Coronation Street actor Arnold, who performed Ashley Peacock in the cleaning soap, showing to be stopped at the door while speaking to a number of members of the security staff and a member of workers who appeared to be checking a record. It’s unclear if he was ultimately turned away or not.

“He’ll be definitely remembered as one of the greatest to come out of Britain. Very jolly, very fun, a very respected person and very nice. He was always a people’s champion.

“It’s great to be here to see so many of the boxing community come together to show our respect. Hundreds on the streets – that shows he was a popular man.”

Hatton’s household also gave emotional eulogies as the boxing icon was laid to relaxation. Thousands turned out in the streets, which had been lined with well-wishers as the cortege made its manner from Stockport Road to the Cathedral, where the service was held. The boxer’s closest pals and household then attended a non-public committal service.

Hatton, who reportedly is leaving a £35million fortune to his household, is survived by his three youngsters, Campbell, 24, Millie, 13, and Fearne, 12.
