ABCs David Muir breaks in with bad news for | TV Shows


During the October 30 version of World News Tonight, anchor David Muir reported a vital development from Buckingham Palace that does not bode effectively for Prince Andrew.

Muir relayed to viewers, “Breaking tonight, the extraordinary announcement from Buckingham Palace late today. Prince Andrew soon no longer a prince. King Charles, taking action against his younger brother in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.”

He then handed over to his London correspondent, who offered further particulars, stating that Andrew was “pushed out of the Royal Family over his ties to the convicted intercourse predator Jeffrey Epstein. King Charles is stripping his brother of all his titles.”

The report highlighted that such a removing of a Royal title hasn’t occurred in over a hundred years.

According to the official assertion from Buckingham Palace, the King has “initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” and that Andrew will “now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.”

“I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life. With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me,” he said.

The last time Royal titles had been eliminated on this scale was in the early twentieth century.

Since 1986, when Queen Elizabeth II granted them forward of his marriage to Sarah Ferguson, Andrew held the title Duke of York, among other honors.

Following a widely criticized interview about his ties to Epstein, he withdrew from public Royal duties in 2019. A parliamentary movement to strip Andrew of his dukedom was lodged in mid-October 2025. Polls confirmed that 4 out of 5 Britons believed the Duke of York title ought to be completely eliminated.

The palace acknowledged, “These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.”
